The 40-question computer exam on the principles, institutions, rights, history and daily life of France, required for a first multi-year residence permit, a resident card or naturalisation.
Since 1 January 2026 the examen civique is mandatory for a first multi-year residence permit, a first resident card and naturalisation. It has 40 multiple-choice questions with four options each, in 45 minutes, and you need 32 right (80%). 28 questions test knowledge and 12 put you in a situation. The practice exam here has the same split, with original Asagno questions in French and English and Arabic help.
